David Bezmozgis

Latvian-born David Bezmozgis moved to Canada when he was six. The accomplished screenwriter (his twenty-five-minute film L.A. Mohel was screened at Jewish film festivals around the world) became an overnight literary sensation when his stories appeared in The New Yorker and Harper's prior to the publication of Natasha: And Other Stories. The book has garnered a 2004 Governor General's Award nomination and was shortlisted for the 2004 Guardian First Book Award. Rights to it have sold in eight countries. He lives in Toronto.
