Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions. If you can't find what you're looking for, please click here and use the form to contact us.

What is the minimum order quantity?

If we're supplying books from stock as a subscription or membership incentive, for example, or to give to delegates attending an overseas conference, the minimum order can be as little as 100 copies.

If we're branding the front cover and printing a book for you, the minimum order quantity would be 3,000 copies, although prices improve considerably for print runs above 5,000 copies.

If we're producing a more customized book for you, the minimum order would start at 10,000 copies, depending on the extent of customization or new work required as well as on your budget for the project. The larger the number of copies editorial, writing, and design work can be spread across, the lower your unit price per copy.

What is the lead time for ordering?

For books from stock—an average of 10 working days.

For black and white paperback reprints—an average of 4 to 6 weeks from order to delivery.

For illustrated or colour books—an average of 8 to 12 weeks from order to delivery.

There is some flexibility in these lead times. We would be happy to discuss your needs in more detail and advise you.

These lead times don't include the time required for any design or editorial changes to books. We will advise on a case-by-case basis the appropriate timescales.

I have a limited budget—how can I get the most for my money?

We want you to use books for your promotion. We can make suggestions and will work to ensure that you get the best possible solution for your budget.

  • The fewer pages a book has, the cheaper it is to produce.
  • Black and white books are generally much cheaper than colour books.
  • Savings can be made by adapting a book's format to make it cheaper to print—reducing its size, printing it on different paper, changing the finish on the book cover, changing the board that the cover is printed on.
  • We can extract selected passages or chapters from a book rather than print the whole thing.
